Lahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmed Ali has said directed to ensure foolproof security to processions and religious mahafals of Jashan-e-Eid Milad un Nabi and depute expert shooters at the roofs besides, strict monitoring of hotels and restaurants. The participants should be passed through walkthrough gates and their body search should be conducted by hand and metal detectors.
He was presiding over a meeting at Commissioner Officer DG Khan held to review the arraignments with regard to 12 Rabi ul Awal programmes. The Minister said that vigilant police officials should be deputed at the entry points of the processions and officers of all concerned departments including police, special branch, civil defence, auqaf, health and Rescue-1122 should accompany the processions.
Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Khan, RPO Muhammad Nawaz Warraich, DCO Iftikhar Ali, DPO Ch. Muhammad Saleem and SP Special Branch Syed Muhammad Bahar Shah informed that besides 128 processions, 109 mahafals would be held on January 25, 12 Rabi ul Awal and foolproof security arrangements have been made in this regard. They informed that there is complete religious harmony in the division. Eleven big processions of 12 Rabi ul Awal would be held at Choti, Sakhi Sarwar Taunsa, Kot Chatha and DG Khan while 35 other processions and 11 mahafal-e-milad would be held in various towns. Lighting would be made at main roads, chowks, government offices and other buildings.
