Metro Bus Project would be a milestone in the transport sector:Nawaz Sharif

Lahore: President Pakistan Muslim League-N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that metro bus project of Punjab government is a milestone in the transport sector of Pakistan. He said the Punjab government of Pakistan Muslim League-N is working for the welfare and prosperity of the people in the real sense while its performance is highly laudable. He said metro bus project is the best gift for the people by the Punjab government of PML-N. He said, with the initiation of metro bus project, citizens would avail comfortable, affordable and modern commuting facilities. He said, by providing modern travelling facilities of international standard to the common man, Punjab government has proved that it is the government of the people in the real sense which is utilizing all its resources to provide relief and amenities to the common man.

He was addressing a high-level meeting held in the secretariat of Pakistan Muslim League-N at Model Town, here today. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif gave a briefing regarding progress on metro bus project to the President PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during the meeting. Members Assembly Ahsan Iqbal, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Pervaiz Malik, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Tariq Azeem, Anusha Rehman, Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad and other leaders of PMl-N attended the meeting.

Talking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that work on metro bus project is continuing round the clock and this project is being completed with a missionary zeal. He said, in the 65 years history of Pakistan, such a splendid project had never been launched for the common man. He said metro bus project is a step towards making Pakistan a country as was envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said such elements are now criticizing metro bus project as do not desire welfare and prosperity of the common man. He said such elements as had not completed development projects for the poor masses during their own tenure, are now raising hue and cry over ongoing public welfare projects. He said that these elements looted national resources in the name of development projects during their era and filled their own pockets. He said that these elements would be compelled to keep their mouth shut when the people started availing best travelling facilities with the initiation of the great metro bus project. He said escalators as well as modern e-ticketing system are being introduced at the metro bus stations for the convenience of the general public along with providing them necessary guidance in this regard. He said that metro buses would soon start operating for the benefit of the masses.
