Cowardly leadership cannot bring revolution:Syed Munawar Hassan

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hassan, has said that the masses could not be deceived through hollow slogans, nor a non- serious and cowardly leadership could bring about any revolution. He was addressing the concluding session of the five day JI workshop at Mansoora on Tuesday.

The JI Ameer said that Dr Tahir ul Qadri could not be successful in realizing his foreign agenda to prevent the silently advancing change in the country. He said, actually the forces opposed to a real change and an Islamic revolution in the country wanted to cause disappointment among the people, but added that the masses would not be befooled through such dramas.

Syed Munawar Hasan impressed upon the army chief to give a befitting reply to the allegations leveled by his Indian counterpart, and added that the cowardly silence of the rulers caused disappointment among the masses while it added to New Delhi’s arrogance. He said, the Pak army chef should fully reflect the sentiments of the nation as India, enjoying US backing, was keen to plunge the region into flames of war.
He clarified that the JI was not against the US itself, but it was against the anti Islam and anti Muslim policies of Washington. He said the hatred against the US was rising with the demolition of its bastions in different parts of the world. However, it wanted to destabilize Pakistan through its agents to achieve its unholy goals.

Syed Munawar Hassan said that the law of the land as well as the process of legislation were in conflict with the Shariah. The present system patronized fraud, deceit and unlawful practices, and plunderers making billions overnight were denying the masses their lawful rights.

The JI Ameer said, the masses condemned the so called democratic government that had demolished the democratic values, ridiculed the Supreme Court verdicts, and made a mockery of the parliament’s resolutions. The masses had not given the rulers the mandate to carry on the bloodshed of the people or military operations in the country. He said that as long as such people came to power, there could not be any change.

He said the nation would have to rise for the cleansing of the dirt in politics. He said the JI thought it was better to have elections as a constitutional change could be brought about only through this way. However, he said, the elections should be on time, fair and transparent.

Syed Munawar Hassan said that a split mandate could not lead to a major and lasting change. The major parties were also aware of the current situation, and all should join hands for the supreme cause of the country and the nation
