Lahore: Managing Director Suzuki Company Hirofumi Nagao called on Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town, today. General Manager Marketing Suzuki Company Azam Mirza, Staff General Manager Marketing Nabutaka, Wajahat Ali, MNA Pervaiz Malik, MPA Sheikh Allauddin, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Industries and other concerned officials were also present.
Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government is giving maximum facilities and incentives to the foreign investors. He said that there are vast opportunities of investment in automobile industry as Punjab has become an attractive province and a number of foreign companies are investing in Punjab. He said that unemployment and poverty can be eliminated by promoting economic activities and Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme in this regard.
The Chief Minister informed that Punjab government is providing low-cost, comfortable and modern transport facilities to the people of the province. He said that Metro Bus Project will play an important role to rid the masses of the traditional transport system. He said that metro bus project is a marvelous project in the transport history and will be completed during the current month. He said that no such public transport project has been launched in the 65 years’ history of the country.
The Chief Minister invited Managing Director Suzuki Company and his delegation to travel in metro bus. The Chief Minister said that setting up of a driving school in Lahore with the cooperation of Suzuki Company will be considered. He also constituted a committee to review establishment of the driving school. The committee will comprise of MNA Pervaiz Malik, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Industries and Vice Chairman Punjab Investment Board. Managing Director Suzuki Company presented gift of two motorcycles to the Chief Minister.
