Lahore: Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister and Chairman Punjab Cabinet Committee on Muharram-ul-Harram Arrangements, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed law enforcement institutions and district administration to ensure complete protection of the participants of processions and Majalis on the occasion of Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA). He said that no one would be allowed to join Majalis and processions without body search. He directed that organizers of Majalis and processions should ensure complete implementation of the restriction on loud speaker and weapons.
He stated this while talking to the representatives of media during his visit to routes of procession of Chehlum Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), here today. Provincial Minister for Education Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Members National and Provincial Assembly Kh. Imran Nazir, Kh. Ajasum Sharif, Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafiq Malik, DIG Operation and DCO Lahore also accompanied him.
Senior Advisor said that officers of district administration, police authorities and officers of law enforcement agencies should maintain a close coordination and strict implementation of the routes and timings of the processions should be ensured. He said that should not be relaxed until the departure of the participants of the processions. He said that the same checklist should be adhered to for the procession of Chehlum Imam Hussain as was implemented during Ashura. He said that officials of special branch should give a clearance report of the routes of the processions after sweeping. He said that no one will be allowed to carry weapons except officers and officials of law enforcement agencies at Chehlum processions and Majalis. He said that officers and officials as well as organizers of Majalis and processions on duty should maintain a watchful eye on suspicious elements and even the most insignificant should not be ignored. He said that aerial surveillance of the Chehlum procession will also be conducted.
Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan also visited the control room set up at Nadar Hall in the office of DCO for monitoring protective measures being made in connection with procession of Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA). DCO while giving briefing informed that 120 CCTV cameras have been installed on the routes of the procession. Senior Advisor said that no sect or school of thought would be allowed to hurt the feelings of others through provocative speeches or violating the laid down code of conduct. He further said that all the departments should perform their duties like a team in a coordinated manner and ensure the protection of participants of the processions and Majalis like Ashura-e-Muharram.
