Lahore: The police officers/officials who left no stone unturned to maintain peace and to make the Punjab a crime-free province by implementing my policies, deserve appreciation and I am really thankful to all of the officers/officials. I am thankful to Allah Almighty for granting me courage and ability to fulfill this responsibility and it all became possible with the support of the police force. On each occasion, either Eid or Muharram-ul-Haram, the fearless and brave Jawans of police force are ready to face all type security challenges.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman stated this while addressing the Last RPO Conference of his tenure on the day of his retirement at the CPO today. Additional-IG Punjab Malik Khuda Bakhash Awan, Additional-IG (Finance) Sarmad Saeed, Additional-IG (Special Branch) Punjab Nasir Khan Durrani, Additional-IG (Commandant Punjab Constabulary) Ahmed Raza Tahir, Additional-IG (Investigations) Naseem-ul-Zaman, Additional-IG Training Mubarak Ali Athar, CCPO Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen, and all the RPOs including Amin Wains, Capt (retd) Zubair, Zulfikar Ahmed Cheema, Aamir Zulifqar, Amjad Javed Saleemi, Aftab Ahmed Cheema, Muhammad Farooq Mazhar, Sardar Ali Khan, Muhammad Nawaz Waraich and all the DPOs were also present on this occasion.
The IGP said that he faced all the ups and downs of his life with courage and happily. He said that as per the intelligence reports he remained on the hit list of Taliban but he continued the mission with the grace of Allah Almighty.
Addressing on this occasion, Additional-IG Punjab Malik Khuda Bakhash Awan, RPO Sheikhupura Zulfikar Ahmed Cheema, Additional-IG (Special Branch) Punjab Nasir Khan Durrani, Additional-IG (Finance) Sarmad Saeed, Additional-IG (Commandant Punjab Constabulary) Ahmed Raza Tahir, Additional-IG Training Mubarak Ali Athar, RPO Rawalpindi Capt (retd) Zubair, and RPO Sargodha Amjad Javed Saleemi paid rich tributes to the IGP. They also said that the IGP proved in his career that he is in fact a commander and a crime fighter. They also said that the IGP is man with many qualities since he is an honest, brave, courageous, tolerant, and a good administrative, who keeps soft corner for the poor.
Meanwhile talking to the media persons, the IGP said that Touqeer Sadiq is hiding in Kathmandu in Nepal where a police team is also present to arrest him and he would be arrested very soon. The IGP has already vacated his official residence and also handed over the official vehicles to the department.
Later, a police squad presented traditional salute to the IGP in the presence of the entire staff of the CPO who also chanted slogans to pay tribute to the police chief on the retirement.
