Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Zar Baba and Forty Thieves have destroyed the country while ruined the national economy with corruption of billions and trillions of rupees. He said that energy crisis has devastated industrial and agriculture sectors. He said that corrupt mafia has looted cultivators in the name of fertilizers and now this mafia wants to give a blow to textile industry of Punjab. He said that the masses should support Pakistan Muslim League-N in the forthcoming general elections to rid the country of darkness and problems as well as elimination of corruption.
He said that PML-N government has served the masses with honesty and commitment during the last four and a half years and promoted corruption free culture in the province. He said that he is ready to face any punishment if corruption of even a single penny is proved against the PML-N government. He asid that Punjab government has executed record development projects across the province during his tenure. He said that development activities worth billions of rupees have been carried out in district Jhang and people are benefiting from major projects. The Chief Minister announced setting up of an industrial estate in Shorkot and construction and extension of road from Qaim Bharwana to Toba Tek Sigh.
He was addressing a big public meeting in Kot Mirza in Shorkot area today. Member National Assembly Saima Akhtar Bharwana, former provincial advisor Mehr Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, local PML-N leaders as well as workers were present in large numbers. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Zardari and his cronies have given nothing but problems to the masses. He said that there is darkness everywhere while unemployment, price-hike and poverty have made the life of people miserable. He said that if Daanish Schools are to be constructed for providing opportunities of quality education to the poor children, laptops are to be distributed, solar lamps are to be given to the students under Ujala Scheme and welfare programmes are to be continued for the benefit of under-privileged segments, then the looted money of the nation will have to be recovered from Zar Baba and Forty Thieves and politics of corruption will have to be buried forever.
He said that like other parts of Punjab, the provincial government has also spent billions of rupees on uplift schemes in district Jhang. He said that a sum of Rs. 50 crore has been utilized on the construction and extension of Jhang Gojra Road while 70 crore rupees have been spent on the construction of Jhang Bypass. Similarly, he said that 50 crore rupees are being spent on the construction of a dual road from Faisalabad Road Bypass to Railway crossing.
The Chief Minister said that ownership rights have already been announced for the dwellers of Katchi Abadies across the province which will benefit two lakh poor people. He said that fee will not be charged from the widows for the ownership rights in Katchi Abadies while the others will pay a fee of Rs. 172 per marla only and become owners of the houses. He said that Member National Assembly Saima Akhtar Bharwana has twice been elected from this area and she has given preference to public service over ministry and other incentives. He announced that Saima Akhtar Bharwana will be candidate of PML-N from this constituency in the forthcoming elections. He said that Mehr Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, father of Saima Akhtar Bharwana has been a member of Mian Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet and this bond of love and respect will further strengthen.
Earlier, Member National Assembly Saima Akhtar Bharwana and former advisor Mehr Akhtar Abbas Bharwana while addressing the public meeting thanked the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for visiting the area. They said that they have been with Quaid Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and will continue to support him in future as well. They said that PML-N leadership has served the masses without any discrimination. They said that mission of public service will continue under the banner of Muslim League-N.
