Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while felicitating the nation on 136th birthday of founder of the country Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, has said that the in letter and spirit for making Pakistan a welfare Islamic state in the real sense. It is unfortunate that after lapse of 66 years, we are still far away from our destiny and could not prove our identity as a nation at international level for which the country was created.
In his message to the nation on the eve of birthday of Quaid-e-Azam, Shahbaz Sharif said that today, we are living as an independent nation. This freedom and identity is due to great Quaid who materialized the dream of Allama Iqbal, he added. Quaid-e-Azam was, no doubt, a man of character and no fear or greed could force him to leave his mission. Quaid-e-Azam is such a great personality that by following his golden principles, we can rid the country of crisis. Quaid-e-Azam was one of those great personalities to whom Allah Almighty had selected for a special purpose. Quaid-e-Azam has done that job through his commitment and peaceful struggle, which Hindus and colonial rulers were not expecting.
He said that Quaid-e-Azam has not only provided freedom to the Muslims of India but also gave them a gift of a separate and unique country for leading a safe and successful life. He said today we will have to renew this pledge that we will utilize all our energies for the bright future of the country by following the principles of Quaid-e-Azam. He said that Muslim League had played a leading role in the establishment of Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. The Chief Minister said PML-N under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif reiterates its pledge that it will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for putting the country on the road to progress and prosperity and make it Quaid’s Pakistan by utilizing all its energies for the elimination of corruption, poverty, loadshedding, lawlessness and unemployment.
Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N government in Punjab is pursuing a comprehensive programme of making Pakistan a country of Quaid and Iqbal. He said that various projects completed in a transparent manner during the last four and a half years are a clear proof of the sincerity of our spirit to serve the masses. The Chief Minister said he earnestly considers that if we want to achieve an honourable and dignified status in the comity of nations, we will have to march forward by adopting a course of action in the light of the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and this is the only way through which we can steer the country out of crisis and put it on the road to progress and prosperity.
