Lahore: A 15-member delegation of journalists from KPK & FATA currently on a 4-day visit to Lahore, visited low-cost Ashiyana Housing Scheme Attari Saroba for low-income people. General Manager Punjab Land Development Company Shahid Khurram gave detailed briefing about Ashiyana Project. While declaring Ashiyana Housing Scheme a commendable project of Chief Minister Punjab, the members of the delegation said that Ashiyana Housing Scheme is a role model for the other provinces. The members of the delegation said that Punjab Chief Minister has put the province on the road to progress by introducing mega projects in the province.
Earlier the members of the delegation called on Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa in his office. While giving briefing regarding Punjab government, Zulfiqar Khosa has said that remarkable improvement has been seen in the education and health sectors due to special attention of Punjab government and funds for these sectors have been doubled than the past in the budget. He said that four new medical colleges have been set up in D.G. Khan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Sialkot while 482 seats have been enhanced in the existing medical colleges. He said that Punjab Educational Endowment Fund has been set up for the brilliant male and female students who could not continue their education due to paucity of resources and the amount of fund has been enhanced to Rs.10 billion while 45 thousand male and female students are benefiting from it.
Furthermore, the Senior Advisor welcomed the members of the delegation on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab and the people of the province on their arrival in Lahore He also offered ‘fateha’ for the Senior Provincial Minister KPK Bashir Ahmed Balor and other martyrs of bomb blast and prayed for the departed souls.
