Lahore: The dwellers of E-Block Model Town Quarters called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Secretary Housing, Commissioner Lahore Division, President and other office-bearers of Model Town Society and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
The residents apprised the Chief Minister of dilapidated condition of their quarters and other problems. Talking to the residents of Model Town Quarters on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the people of E-Block quarters will be given new houses in K-Block Model Town like Aashiyana Housing Scheme and a committee headed by Secretary Housing in consultation with the dwellers, will submit a plan within seven days.
He directed that best designs should be prepared for the houses and a final plan in consultation with the residents should be evolved and implemented immediately. He said that Punjab government has launched welfare projects like Aashiyana Housing Scheme for the provision of own roof to the homeless people throughout the province. He said that new houses having latest facilities in K-Block Model Town will be given to the residents of E-Block Model Town Quarters.
The Chief Minister said that for this purpose, implementation on the agreement or decision made in consultation with dwellers will be ensured. The residents of E-Block quarters while expressing their gratitude to the Chief Minister on the decision of constructing new houses for them said that whatever decision will be taken with regard to construction of new residential units, they will completely abide by it.
