Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has distributed here today cheques amounting Rs 25 lakhs among the needy Christian brethren in connection with Christmas.
Ch Parvez Elahi distributed these cheques out of special grant of Minister of State for National Harmony and PML minority leader Akram Masih Gill.
Talking on this occasion, Ch Parvez Elahi said that Pakistan Muslim League (PML) is playing its role on every forum for ensuring respectable place for the minorities and protecting their rights, our party celebrates festivities of all minorities on party level which is an indication that PML believes in religious harmony.
Ch Parvez Elahi further said that we want to form such a society in which there is tolerance for each other and people talk about well-being of humanity instead of mutual rifts and disputes.
Akram Masih Gill while speaking on the occasion said that only Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi are real leaders and benefactors of the minorities in Pakistan, they have an important role in getting the problems of the minorities solved and they will play important role in future also for getting minorities more representation in the assemblies.
