Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed Secretary Home Punjab and Inspector General Police Punjab to further tighten security of anti-polio teams all over the province. He said that foolproof security be provided to the staff of anti-polio teams.
The Chief Minister directed that every possible step should be taken for providing complete security to the staff of anti-polio teams and after recent tragic incidents, police officials should also be deputed in field to accompany anti-polio teams.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the incidents of firing on polio vaccinators in Karachi, Peshawar and some other cities, and expressed grief and sorrow over the deaths of anti-polio workers in the attacks.
He said that anti-polio teams are discharging national responsibilities and no civilized society can allow such brutal acts. He also issued orders to provide complete security to anti-polio teams in Punjab.
