Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif during a reception hosted in honor of National Hockey Team, talked to the team management and the players in a pleasant mood.
The Chief Minister shook hand with all the players and appreciated them on displaying good performance in the Champion Trophy Hockey Tournament. The Chief Minister in a lighter mood, said that national team has secured third position, upon which he wanted to give three million rupees but on the request of Akhtar Rasool, is giving five million rupees. When the Chief Minister announced recruitment of hockey players in police, the players made sound clapping.
President Pakistan Hockey Federation, Qasim Zia while talking to the Chief Minister, said that he has always supported hockey although it relates to federal government, upon which the Chief Minister smiled and said that whenever federal government is discussed, the name of Zar Baba is also mentioned, upon which the audience also smiled. During the reception, power was also shut down for some time due to load-shedding. Qasim Zia, Akhtar Rasool and Asif Bajwa paid rich tributes to the Chief Minister on his services for the promotion of hockey.
