Federal government is not ready to eradicate corruption:Senator Pervaiz Rashid

Lahore: has said that at the time when only two months have been left in completion of governments’ tenures and the nation is going for new elections, therefore, inviting the representatives of Punjab to a committee constituted by the federal government for eradication of corruption is a mock and no representative of Punjab government will attend any such meeting.

Spokesman of Punjab government, Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that the Opposition has raised voice for elimination of corruption from day one and submitted comprehensive proposals but the federal government did not pay heed to any proposal and is now trying to get approved such an ineffective Accountability Bill which cannot be useful for eradication of corruption. He said that the statement of Chairman NAB regarding corruption of seven to nine billion rupees has perturbed federal government and the federal government which did nothing for eradication of corruption during its four and half years tenure is still not serious in this regard.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that every patriotic citizen is worried about loot, plunder and ruination of national institutions by federal government. He said that the discussion in the federal cabinet regarding constitution of a committee for eradication of corruption is only a foppery. Pervaiz Rashid said that the Punjab government will neither become party in any such measure being taken for deceiving the people nor attend any such meeting.
