Pakistan has decided to get rid of Zardari, Nawaz: Imran Khan

Gujjaranwala: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that the change has already taken place as the people and the rulers were poles apart and the people across Pakistan have decided to get rid of corrupt politicians especially Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif.

“The people have decided to defeat the corrupt politicians in the upcoming election which would prove to an ‘epic battle between the opportunist politicians and the passion and ideology’ of the youth,” said Imran Khan while addressing the participants of Insaf Professional Forum (IPF) held here at a local hotel.

Imran Khan said that the people of Pakistan had understood the fact that it was their own fault that they had elected corrupt and incompetent politicians.

“People have changed and they have come to a conclusion that change is inevitable. Society goes down when it fails to distinguish between the good and evil. We would have to raise voice against injustice and corruption,” he asserted.

He said that the leaders of PML-N and the PPP were afraid of the popularity of the PTI. He said that the PTI would not forge an alliance with any party supporting the status-quo. He said that the provision of his security was a responsibility of the government but he was being provided no security.

“On the other hand, Shahbaz Sharif is getting security more than the British Queen. Over 1260 police personnel are providing security to the Sharif family. Sharifs and Zardaris are behaving like monarchs,” he added.

Imran Khan said that when Asif Zardari became President, we protested in Islamabad to show our Allah that we are not involved in this crime. “Nawaz Sharif not only supported Zardari’s election bid but also he has been providing Zardari with support for the last five years,” he said.

He said that the PTI workers had taken risks to reach out to all people whether it was Lahore, Karachi, Quetta or Waziristan. We also thought that if we have to make a new Pakistan, we must start with our own party and make it democratic through intra-party elections,” he said.

The PTI chief added that other parties’ leaders were scared of the PTI and they were recruiting turncoats and spending money on laptops, BISP, etc to win loyalties of opportunist politicians,” he added.

“However, Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif are doing us a favour to us by taking away the opportunists from the PTI,” he added. Imran Khan also blasted the federal government for the anti-judiciary tirade and said that the rulers were unhappy with the independent judiciary. He said that the MQM should respect the decisions of the apex court. He said that the PTI stand by the Supreme Court and it would foil all conspiracies against the independent judiciary and free media.

Earlier, Imran Khan and other leaders also attended the Chehlum held for the solace of the late PTI leader and former Defence Minister Col. (retd) Ghulam Sarwar Cheema at his ancestral town of Khanki.
