Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that Model Daycare centres would be set up throughout the province for facilitating working women.
She expressed these views while addressing the first meeting of Board of Governors of Punjab Daycare Fund Society at 8-Club Road, here today. Secretary Women Development Punjab Irum Bukhari, representatives of Law, Higher Education, Schools Education, Finance, Industries, Health, Planning & Development departments, Punjab Skills Development Fund besides Justice (Retd.) Aamir Raza A.Khan, Head Gender Studies Lahore College for Women University Dr. Sara Shahid, Director Women Development Sajjad Haider and Special Assistant to Chief Minister Nasim Bano attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the aims and objectives of Daycare centres, rules and regulations and provision of facilities of international standard to these centres. The meeting also gave approval to constitute a sub-committee. The meeting also reviewed cooperation of private sector with Daycare centres. Addressing the meeting Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that Punjab government is determined to include maximum women in national mainstream. She said that setting up of Daycare centres is part of implementation of women package.
