Country can be put on the road to progress by empowering women:CM Punjab

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that more than half of our population consists of women who are playing their active role in education, health, engineering, banking and other sectors. He said that country can be put on the road to progress and prosperity by empowering women. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has taken concrete measures for the development of women. He said that the professional wing of PML-N will be fully activated and professional men and women would be included in this wing.

He was presiding over a meeting with regard to professional wing of Pakistan Muslim League-N here today. General Secretary PML-N Punjab Raja Ashfaq Sawar, Muslim League leader Kamal Ahmed and professional women associated with various sectors attended the meeting. Mehwish Malik and Saira Iftikhar gave briefing regarding professional wing.

Addressing the meeting Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that a prosperous and independent Pakistan is our aim and we will definitely achieve this goal under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that PML-N has a visionary leadership which is fully capable of strengthening the country. The Chief Minister said that PML-N has solid policies for the development and prosperity of the people and the party will execute these policies after getting success in coming elections. He said that the targets of development cannot be achieved without promotion of education, health, agriculture, energy and information technology, that is why Punjab government has made improvement of these sectors its top priority. He said that a comprehensive strategy has been evolved for the improvement of education, health, agriculture and other social sectors. Shahbaz Sharif said that professional wing will be fully activated in the party and a committee comprising politicians would be constituted for this purpose which will submit its proposals and recommendations.

Professional women who participated in the meeting while paying rich tributes to Shahbaz Sharif on the welfare steps taken by the Punjab government said that holding of youth festival and distribution of laptops on merit among the youth are important steps which will not only provide an opportunity to the youth for polishing their abilities but the spirit of competition will also be created among them.
