Lahore: Sports activities are the top priority of advanced countries but unfortunately they are not being given importance in our country said Inspector General Zafar Abbas Lak, while addressing the gold medal winners Pakistan National Touch Ball Teams (Men’s and Women’s) in an Award Distribution Ceremony held in Lahore.
I.G NH&MP Zafar Abbas Lak, who is also President Pakistan Tug of War Federation & Vice President Pakistan Volley Ball Federation, announced that Motorway Police will form its own teams in Touch Ball, Athletics, Volley Ball and Shooting and get these team affiliated with National Federations. He also announced that Motorway Police will hold “NH&MP Touch Ball Gold Cup” every year. DIG N-5 Central Rai Altaf Hussain who is also Senior Vice President Pakistan Touch Ball Federation said on this occasion that Touch Ball is a new game in Pakistan and he is pleased that Pakistan has become champion of this game in South Asia. DIG Rai Altaf Hussain also expressed his commitment to promote sports related activities in National Highways & Motorway Police.
The players of Pakistan National Touch Ball Team (Men’s and Women’s) were awarded with cash reward, certificates of merit, medals and gift packs. The souvenirs were exchanged among the dignitaries at the end of the ceremony. The Ceremony was attended by Riaz Fatyana (Member Parliament and President Pakistan Touch Ball Association), SSP Mirza Faran Baig, SSP Inaam Waheed, M.A Rauf (Chairman BoG University of Lahore & President Pakistan Fist Ball Federation) Zahoor Ahamd(Secretary PTBF), Raja Akram (Member Selection PTBF) and other dignitaries relating to sports.
