JI condemns bomb blasts, demands Malik’s resignation

Lahore: While strongly condemning the bomb blasts in different cities on Wednesday causing huge loss of life, the Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the rulers had no right to stay in power. He has demanded immediate resignation of the Federal Interior Minister as the government had totally failed to protect the life and property of the masses.
In a press statement from Mansoora on Thursday, Syed Munawar Hasan said that the entire country, including Karachi, had virtually become a slaughter house, as the police, administration, security institutions and agencies had been a complete failure. The loss of life in Karachi, Balochistan and other parts of the country during the last two months was far more than that in the wars with India in 1965 and 1971, he added.
He said that thousands of innocent people had been murdered during the period of the present government, while thousands others had been rendered disabled. Thousands had lost their bread earners. However, the rulers were least bothered. They were leading luxurious lives in their palaces as almost the entire security personnel had been deputed for the security of the VIPs and the general public had been left at the mercy of the murderers and beasts.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that some foreign powers wanted sectarian clashes in the country and the possibility of CIA and RAW’s hand behind the bomb blasts and suicide attacks could not be ruled out.
The JI Ameer further said that the present government was not expected to restore peace in the country, and the only way out was to hold elections at the earliest.
He said, there was a conspiracy to put off the elections. He urged the masses to foil this conspiracy. He said the opposition parties should join hands and pressurize the rulers to hold elections on time.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that Rehman Malik had worked out a convenient method of checking bomb blasts by suspending mobile telephone service and motor cycle driving, which was ridiculous. The mobile phone ban jammed the entire country and contacts of the people causing them great hardships while the ban on motor cycle driving deprived the masses of a cheap means of transportation.
