Pb.govt set target for wheat procurement campaign 2013-14

Lahore:Senior Advisor to CM Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that forty lakh metric tons target has been fixed for the . He disclosed this while presiding over a special meeting with regard to arrangements for wheat procurement campaign 2013-14 at 90-Shara-e-Quaid-e-Azam today. Special Assistant to CM Manshaullah Butt, Secretaries of Finance, Agriculture, Food and Industry departments, member planning and development, director food and other officers were present on the occasion.

The meeting decided that 35 lakh bardana will be purchased for the wheat procurement campaign 2013-14 which, like previous year, 60% will be polypropylene bags while 40% jute bags.

The meeting also reviewed the present stocks of wheat with food department. Secretary Food Irfan Ali informed the meeting that due to policies of Punjab government, wheat is available in abundance upon which the meeting expressed its satisfaction.
