Government and welfare organizations have to work jointly for the childrens

Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister, Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz has said that the government and welfare organizations will have to work jointly for the implementation of policy for protection of children rights.

She was presiding over a meeting with regard to protection of children rights at 8-Club Road. Representatives of Child Rights Movements Zafar Malik, Uzma Ashiq, Saira Bibi, Nazir Ghazi, Malik Iftikhar and officials of various departments attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that setting up of a permanent provincial commission for the protection of children rights is utmost necessary which will not only help resolve problems of the children but also ensure their monitoring so that action should be taken in case of any violation. She said that children are our precious asset and it is our collective responsibility to provide them fundamental necessities of life and better future.

While addressing the meeting, Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz said that Punjab government is taking comprehensive steps for improvement of every sector so that the fruits of the development could reach all the segments and for this purpose, education should be promoted. She said that with the promotion of education, people will become aware of their fundamental rights and discharge their obligations diligently.
