Lahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Malik Ahmad Ali has said that the law and order situation would be maintained in the country with the cooperation of Ulema belonging to all schools of thought and civil society.
He said this during a meeting of Divisional Peace Committee held in Mzaffargarh to review the security arrangements during Moharramul Haram. Commissioner DG Khan Tariq Mehmud, RPO Khan Muhammad Nawaz Warraich, DCO Muzaffargarh Ibrar Ahmad Mirza and DPO Muzaffargarh Zishan Asghar were present on the occasion.
Malik Ahmad Ali said that all resources should be utilized for maintenance of peace during Moharramul Haram and unity be promoted. He directed to keep a vigilant eye on river passages on both sides of the district and check the movement of terrorists through boats and the boat service should be suspended on Moharram 9th and 10th. He said that police posts should be set up at entry and exit points besides security of women Majalis should be ensured. He said that the women of health department should be asked to perform duty in case of shortage of ladies police. He said that government officers should perform their duties with utmost responsibility in order to foil the nefarious designs of anti-peace elements. He directed ACs and TMOs to make arrangements of cleanliness and potable water on the routes of all processions during Moharram besides the arrangements of lights should be ensured at night and in case of loadshedding, alternate arrangements must be made. He said that provision of medical staff and ambulance should be ensured besides members of peace committees at district, Tehsil and police station levels should be contacted. He directed DCO and DPO to take immediate action against those creating hurdles in the maintenance of law and order.
The Ulema of all schools of thought also addressed on the occasion and emphasized on religious harmony. They assured full cooperation for the maintenance of peace in the district. Central President Anjuman-e- Tajiran Syed Ameer Hassan, Muhammad Yahya Abbasi, Shia leaders Gulzar Abbas Naqvi, Kazim Ali Haidri, Ghazanfar Abbas, President Press Club Naeem Ahmad and other ulema also addressed on the occasion and assured their fullest cooperation for the maintenance of peace.
