Lahore: A two-day international dengue conference is starting from today and its opening ceremony will be held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will be the chief guest. People from public and private sectors who have performed key role in controlling the disease will receive awards in the opening ceremony.
All technical sessions of the conference will be held on November 10 in the afternoon at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, 90-Shara-e-Quaid-e-Azam. Medical specialists from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore and other countries besides representatives of WHO, UNICEF and other international organizations are participating in the conference. All the proceedings of the technical sessions will be recorded in documents so that it may help in eradicating dengue in future as well. A grand dinner in honour of foreign delegates will be hosted at Hazoori Bagh. An exhibition of dengue posters will be held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal by the government departments and organizations as a part of this international dengue conference.
