Supreme Court’s verdict in Asghar Khan case has validated PPP’s stance:Saleem Bhatti

Bahawalpur: Secretary Information PPP District Bahawalpur has said Supreme Court’s verdict in Asghar Khan case has validated and vindicated PPP’s stance that elections were rigged in 1990.He said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had always raised voice against certain wrongdoing and malpractices in the past.
Talking to a Media persons here in Bahawalpur, he appreciated the government to conduct a neutral investigation by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against people who were involved in this undemocratic and unconstitutional act. He said no institution or individual was above the law and investigation should be initiated irrespective of the political status or affiliation.we hope that an independent Election Commission would ensure transparent and fair general elections in the country.He reiterated that the PPP believes in the politics of reconciliation as the country cannot afford political confrontation.He said concerted and consistent efforts were needed to face the challenges being faced by the country.To a question, Bhatti said the government always respected the courts’ verdicts and strived for harmonious relations among the state institutions. Our government believes in free media and all out efforts are being made to ensure better working atmosphere for newsmen. our leader ship and government believes in freedom of media and are taking all possible measures to ensure the welfare and better working conditions for media workers.
