Lahore: A delegation of affectees of the Ring Road under the leadership of former MNA Mian Munir Ahmad called on Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi at his residence here today. Ch Parvez Elahi after listening to the delegation members about their problems and grievances assured them that we are with them and they would get their rights, Ring Road affectees should not consider themselves alone and in every difficult hour, Pakistan Muslim League would be standing shoulder to shoulder with them.
Apprising Ch Parvez Elahi about their problems, member s of the delegation said that the ‘KKhadam-e-A’ala’ had promised to them that those whose land will fall into the road would be paid according to the market rate and shops and houses constructed 40 to 50 feet away from the road would not be demolished and instead they would be provided relief. They said that contrary to his promise, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif had got one thousand shops and 150 houses demolished as a result of which about 500 families have been rendered unemployed. They asked as what sort of ‘Khadam-e-A’ala’ he was who is not bothered about the difficulties and grievances of the people.
Traders representative Saeed Qadir Shaikh told Ch Parvez Elahi that they had met the Commissioner, DCO and the Chief Secretary but none of them had extended any cooperation to them. He said that they are protesting continuously for the last one month but nobody has been moved adding that if couple of people die in bomb explosion or firing, the entire media and all politicians reach there but here 500 families are agitating and protesting but nobody has bothered to visit them and listen to their problems and assure some cooperation or relief to them.
The delegation demanded of the Deputy Prime Minister that justice should be got to the Anjuman-e-Tajran Multan Road, Yateem Khana, Samanabad, Bhallah Stop, Chhappar Stop, Chauburji Quarters and the Scheme More residents. Delegation included Imran Mahmud, Ch Suhail, Goga Gujjar, Ch Ghulam Hussain, Qaiser Malik, Shaikh Farman Qureshi, Muhammad Azam Hussain, Nadeem Ahmad, Mian Arshad Mahmud, Ch Ehsan, Asaf Khan Mian Electronic besides Saeed Qadir Shaikh.
Meanwhile, Chairman Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) Syed Asif Hashmi called on Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi at his residence here today.
On this occasion, views were exchanged regarding overall political situation of the country and the bye-elections. Advisor to the Prime Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja was also present.
Syed Asif Hashmi informed Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi that Eid and marriage packages have been prepared for the Board employees.
Ch Parvez Elahi lauded the efforts of Syed Asif Hashmi for providing benefits to the Board employees and said that the Federal Government also wants to give maximum possible benefits to its employees.
