Punjab government has directed all the town and tehsil municipal officers to set up temporary centers for the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in their respective areas on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Local government department, in a letter to TMOs, has directed that neither any fee be charged at these centres for the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals nor any tax be imposed for the transportation of sacrificial animals. TMOs have been directed to establish temporary centers in this regard from October 17 to 31 and inform the people through local cable network and other sources that no tax or fee will be charged for the sale, purchase and transportation of sacrificial animals and if someone demands any amount in this regard, concerned TMOs should be informed so that action could be taken against such persons.
