Lahore: A comprehensive online platform has been developed where users can register for the Punjab Youth Internship Program and Punjab government can then shortlist candidates.
The Youth Internship Program will provide Rs.50,000/- internship opening in various government departments/private organizations. The interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs.10,000/- during the internship, hence the program will assist the unemployed youth in financial terms while further enhancing their professional capabilities.
The duration of the internship will be three months and the youth program has been divided into three phases. The first and second phase will each employ 15,000 interns beginning on the 1st of October and 1st of November respectively. 20,000 interns will be employed in the third phase which will begin on the 1st of December 2012.
Commenting on the program, Joint Director, HR, Punjab Information Technology Board stated that the vision of Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is to provide training and career development opportunities to young professionals of the province. He said that Punjab Youth Internship Programme has been developed in line with the Chief Minister’s vision. We believe this programme will benefit around 50,000 fresh unemployed graduates, he added.
