Lahore: A spokesman of Provincial Energy Department has said that in order to overcome energy crisis, work on various projects of generating 3250 megawatt of electricity is speedily continuing in the province and an increase of 1395 megawatt in electricity generation will be made till 2013.
The spokesman informed that under energy department, work on eight projects of power generation from coal is being carried out which will result in generation of 875 megawatt electricity while 285.6 megawatt will be generated from 42 hydel power projects, 92.5 megawatt from solar and 4.5 megawatt electricity will be generated from bio-gas power projects which will help overcome electricity crisis in the province.
The spokesman told that Punjab government has constituted Punjab Power Development Board for more projects of energy which will release immediate funds for different projects for their timely execution.
