Punjab Government signs MOU with Gunnies Book of World Record

Lahore: An agreement has been made between Punjab government and the renowned and reputable institution Gunnies Book of World Record for registering the world record of Punjab Youth Festival 2012. Executive Head for South Asia Raymond Marshal signed the agreement on behalf of Gunnies Book while Hamza Shahbaz Sharif on behalf of Punjab government. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmad, MPA Rana Arshad, Director General Sports Board and Youth Affairs Punjab Osman Anwar, Secretary Haroon Ahmad Khan and DCO Lahore Norul Ameen Mengal were also present on the occasion. After the agreement, Punjab Youth Festival has become official partner of Gunnies Book of World Record. Enthusiastic sentiments were expressed by both the parties at the ceremony of the agreement and termed this agreement a golden chapter of country’s history. About 20000 citizens of Lahore were present in Punjab Stadium on the occasion. According to the agreement, the team of Gunnies Book of World Record will mention the world records of Punjab Youth Festival 2012 in its book.

Chairman Sports Board Punjab Hamza Shahbaz Sharif also inaugurated the helpline set up for providing complete guidance about Youth Festival to the youth of the province through which, youth can play important role for constituting a healthy society besides providing best guidance in future. Secretary Sports Board Punjab, Haroon Ahmad Khan and Country Head Plan International Rashid Javed signed an agreement of collaboration for one year for helpline.

Chief Organizer Punjab Youth Festival and Deputy Secretary Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmad said that helpline is the latest method of providing information about various problems to young generation which is being used all over the world. He said that this helpline is the best source for the young generation to make their future bright. He said that this helpline can be used from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm in seven days a week and experts will assist the youth for resolution of their problems through free telephone number. He said that more than 100 persons expressed their desire to set world record during youth festival, however, only 25 persons have been given permission and it is hoped that out of these, 15 world records will be set.
