Lahore: Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed that in the flood-hit areas of DG Khan and Rajanpur. He directed that field hospitals should be set up in the flooded areas alongwith ensuring abundant quantity of medicines and snake-bite vaccine.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding flood at Commissioner’s Office which was attended by Provincial Secretary Social Welfare Muhammad Akram Javed, Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Khan, District Coordination Officer Iftikhar Ali Sehu and other concerned officers. The meeting reviewed the situation in the wake of flood and relief activities. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that boats and other machinery should be used for evacuation of marooned people. He said that special attention should be paid to vaccination of livestock. He said that a survey should be conducted to assess the damage to crops and rehabilitation of roads. He said that besides registration of the affectees staying in relief camps, fogging and spray should be carried out in the flood-hit areas.
The Commissioner informed that a deadline of two days has been given for rehabilitation of the affected roads of DG Khan and eight out of 18 roads of Rajanpur district have been restored. He said that 43 out of 79 roads of provincial and district departments have been restored which included 16 out of 33 roads of district government, nine out of 21 roads of Taunsa and five provincial roads have been restored after repair. He said that seven new bridges would be constructed at Manka Canal and five breaches in the canal have been plugged.
