TMA Nishtar Town disappoints Commissioner Jawad Rafique

Commissioner, Lahore` Division, Jawad Rafique Malik while expressing his dissatisfaction over the reports presented by TMA Nishtar Town and Health Department regarding the dengue larvaeciding, has ordered to ensure better performance of the teams working in the field. He further said that it was inconceivable that dengue larvae was not there in the rainy season.

He issued these orders while presiding over a meeting held to review anti-dengue arrangements at Nishtar Town, here today. The meeting was also attended by CM’s Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Member Provincial Assembly Rana Mubasher Iqbal, Additional Commissioner General, AC Nishtar Town, Chief Entomologist Dr. Wasim Akram, Dr. Sajjad Dara, TMO Nishtar Town, WASA, PHA, LWMC besides members of Emergency Response Committee. The Commissioner said that the presence of dengue larvae could not be ruled out at some places in spite of having best cleanliness arrangements there. He directed the DDO Health to examine the work of surveillance and larvaeciding being done by the field teams. He said that it was credibility of the field teams if they found out the larvae and directed that report should be sent to Commissioner office after the work of larvaeciding. He said that field teams were not showing satisfactory performance and directed that all the staff and available resources be utilized effectively so that good results might be achieved. He said that the next few weeks regarding the dengue mosquito were very important and an effective plan be devised to check that menace. The Commissioner also directed the WASA and PHA officers to clean both the sides of Rohi Naula at Ferozepur Road.

On that occasion, CM’s Advisor on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that public awareness and cooperation against dengue was the need of the hour. He called upon the masses to come out and work with the government against dengue for the children and coming generations and urged that they should cooperate with the field staff against dengue. He further said that Pakistani nation had the ability to cope with the crisis better than the other nations of the world.
