Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif despite ailment continued to monitor the relief and rehabilitation activities for the flood affectees today. He remained in constant contact with the elected representatives and senior officers engaged in relief activities of flood affectees in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and other areas. He also got reports about the relief activities and rehabilitation measures taken for flood-hit people.
The Chief Minister was informed that in accordance with his instructions, relief activities have been further accelerated in the affected areas and along with elected representatives, concerned authorities are also busy in carrying out relief work. He was further informed that 245 trucks of relief items have been dispatched to the affected areas while tents and other essential items are also being provided to the calamity-stricken people.
While issuing instructions, the Chief Minister directed that every possible relief and succor should be provided to the flood affectees and more trucks of relief goods be dispatched soon to the affected areas. He reiterated that Punjab government will not leave flood affectees alone and he is personally monitoring the relief and rehabilitation activities. He further directed that he should be kept informed constantly regarding relief activities of flood affectees.
The Chief Minister said that Senior Advisor Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Minister Ch. Abdul Ghafoor, Chief Secretary, Secretary Health, Secretary Irrigation and other senior officers are present in the area and ensuring implementation on his directives regarding the assistance of the affectees.
