Lahore: Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Mujahid Sherdil today accompanied by his team monitored relief activities being extended to flood affectees in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.
On this occasion, Mujahid Sherdil informed the media that flood water has started receding from Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan while process of water disposal at various places is also being carried out through dewatering sets. He said that relief activities have been further expedited and rehabilitation work of the affectees will soon be completed. He said that survey regarding the losses caused will be conducted in DG Khan and Rajanpur areas immediately after receding of water in order to provide relief to the affectees as soon as possible. He informed that on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, divisional commissioners have dispatched 105 trucks of relief goods including edibles, tents, blankets and other necessary items.
He said that 160 thousand kilogram flour, 100 thousand kilogram rice, 10500 food hampers, 500 tents and 600 blankets were distributed among the flood affectees of DG Khan and Rajanpur through 43 trucks. He said that Punjab Chief Minister has directed not to spare any effort in the provision of relief to flood affectees and added that no negligence would be tolerated in their look after. He said that daily report is being presented to Punjab Chief Minister regarding relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees.
