Its federal Govt duty to resolve energy crisis:CM Punjab

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that although it is responsibility of federal government to resolve energy crisis yet Punjab government is trying its level best to seek cooperation of federal government for solving this issue of national importance.

In a statement, Shahbaz Sharif said that the big hydro power plants and other projects of energy fall under the purview of federal government but the energy crisis being faced by the country today has not only badly affected the national economy but has also made the lives of the people miserable. He said that keeping in view the gravity of the situation, Punjab government is making strenuous efforts for seeking cooperation of federal government to resolve energy crisis as no headway can be made for generating energy crisis in the province without its cooperation. The Chief Minister suggested that project committees should be constituted for resolving energy crisis and stressed that private sector should also come forward so that energy crisis could be solved on permanent basis. He said that Punjab government is pursuing a comprehensive programme of solving energy problem and a separate energy department has been established for this purpose.
