London: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has initiated a reformatory and revolutionary programme to ensure promotion of merit and establishment of good governance in the province, whereas third-party audit system has been introduced to maintain transparency in the execution of uplift schemes due to which well-reputed institutions at international level are acknowledging transparency in the development projects of the provincial government.
He said while federal government has destroyed every national and profit-earning institution, PML-N government has not only reconstructed the devastated institutions but has also established new institutions aimed at welfare of the youth and the masses. He said that the facts revealed in the recent report of World Economic Forum, about devastation of Pakistan’s economy due to corruption and bad governance of the federation has further exposed the true nature of Zardari gang.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that those rulers as have not been able to rid the country of energy crisis do not deserve to be tolerated in power even for a single second. He said that reports of international institutions are clearly reflecting the fact that the present rulers have devastated national economy and Pakistan has gone far behind many countries including its neighbors in the economic field.
In a statement issued from London, Punjab Chief Minister said that the latest report of World Economic Forum has exposed the tall claims of progress in the country. He said, due to incompetence of Zardari gang, industry is at standstill, lakhs of people have become unemployed, while every person is being impacted by terrorism and lawlessness. He said that people are witness to the fact that Punjab government has taken a number of concrete steps to rid the society of corruption, while it has given practical shape to the slogan of provision of education, health, employment and other facilities to every citizen.
He said, due to this reason, independent international institutions are acknowledging good governance and transparency in Punjab while there is no blemish of corruption on Punjab government for the last four and a half years. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that if we are sincere, no task is difficult. He said that the culture of merit and transparency, introduced in Punjab, has become our identity and even our critics cannot accuse Punjab government of corruption. He said, as a result of revolutionary public-welfare and uplift programmes, undertaken by PML-N government during the last four and a half years, a network of development projects can be seen throughout the province.
He said that a gradual improvement, under a well-coordinated strategy, has been introduced in education, health, infrastructure and other sectors. He pointed out that if the federal government had not imposed the menace of loadshedding on the people due to its incompetency, the fruit of progress and prosperity would have reached the people in a more effective manner. He said that when the PML-N government came into power, the biggest hurdle in its way was the graveyards of corruption by the previous government in every sector. He said that corruption, plunder, dishonesty and culture of ad-hocism was rampant, but Punjab government under the dynamic leadership of Quaid PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, fought against these social evils with determination and transformed the graveyards of mismanagement into the minarets of development through good governance due to which international institutions like Transparency are acknowledging the good governance in Punjab.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that we have been successful in the court of the people due to good governance, elimination of corruption, mismanagement and adopting the time-honoured principles of merit and transparency in Punjab province during the last four and a half years. He said the PML-N government does not believe in power only for the sake of power, but it believes in power to serve the masses. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif vowed that PML-N would continue its struggle for strengthening of democracy, under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
