Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the way our valiant armed forces fought in September 1965 war with courage and determination is a golden chapter in our national history. He said that today Pakistani nation has to pledge again that it will forget all political, linguistic and other prejudices and would unite to strengthen the motherland.
In his message on the occasion of Defense Day, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistani nation has always faced challenges with determination and shown courage in every hour of difficulty. He said no war can be won only with armament, as the whole nation has to stand shoulder to shoulder with its valiant forces to defeat the enemies. He said that in order to make national defense impregnable, the government of Pakistan Muslim League-N got the world accept Pakistan as an atomic power in 1998. He said the Quaid PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, displayed great courage and valor and by making atomic explosions, laid the foundation of a sovereign Pakistan, towards which no one could ever think of malice. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N and Pakistani nation has never comprised on national defense, however, unfortunately, the country is facing more internal dangers today than external threats. He said that we would have to accept the fact that our nation is far away from those objectives which were set forth by our forefathers and for which the country was created after tremendous sacrifices. He said today we would have to think as to why Pakistan has become a hub of problems like electricity loadshedding, inflation, unemployment and lawlessness. Today we have to think why one Pakistani has become enemy of the other Pakistani. Today we have to think why all facilities of life are being enjoyed by the elite, while the poor are denied even two meals a day, education, health and other facilities.
The Chief Minister said that 6th September is the day to renew our loyalty with Pakistan and on this day, we should firmly resolve that we would unite as a nation and counter all internal and external dangers, just as we did in the war of 1965. He said the nation requires similar unity and zeal as was displayed in the war of September 1965 to face the challenges the country is confronting today. The Chief Minister said that supreme sacrifices of Jawans and officers of Pak Army would be remembered throughout the history. He said that armed forces of Pakistan displayed great determination in order to protect the sovereignty and solidarity of the country. The Chief Minster said that PML-N, under the leadership of its Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sahrif pledges that it could continue its struggle till Pakistan is transformed into the country as was envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that no stone would be left unturned to strengthen the defense of Pakistan and to achieve new heights of economic development. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that, Inshallah, the country would be brought out of darkness and transform into a focus of light while all such foreign aid which is given at the cost of national honour would be renounced.
