6 September spirit and unity needed for defence of the Motherland: Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have said that for the defence, security and solidarity of the Motherland today , September 1965 spirit and unity is needed.

In their joint message on the occasion of the Defence of Pakistan Day, they said that brave and courageous people of Pakistan can never forget   the day of September 6, 1965 when their beloved country had become the victim of worst aggression of the history. They expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah that the Armed Forces of Pakistan had written such great history of courage and spirit of martyrdom  with their blood that the enemy’s evil designs were foiled.

Both the leaders also recalled the speech which Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had delivered on June 4, 1948 wherein the Father of the Nation  had declared the Armed Forces as the defenders of Pakistan and expressed pride in them.

Continuing Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi  assured the families brave and courageous Army jawans who had laid down their lives in the defence of the motherland that the nation can never forget the great sacrifices offered by them adding that  we are today independent citizens of an independent country because of them.

Appreciating the high professional role of the Army, they said that strong defence alone plays effective role in the solidarity and security of the nation and the country.

They said that Pakistan Muslim League while paying  rich tributes to the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their  role , full of spirit of faith and martyrdom, in the national security within the framework of the Constitution also  believes that fighting  modern war is not only the duty of the Army but all institutions of the country within their constitutional framework should stand shoulder to shoulder  with the Armed Forces in the defence of the motherland.
