London: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that accepting the offer of premiership under the presidentship of Asif Ali Zardari tantamounts to disloyalty with the people of Pakistan.
He was replying to a question regarding statement of Malik Riaz during meeting with media representatives at Heathrow Airport on arrival at London, according to which, Shahbaz Sharif had been offered premiership by the PPP government.
Shahbaz Sharif said this news item is correct that in 2010, he was conveyed a message that he should become prime minister of Pakistan but, he had flatly rejected this offer. He said that this was an unconditional offer but he cannot even think of joining hands with Zardari and his gang who have pushed the country into darkness through loadshedding, given price-hike to the people of Pakistan, promoted the worst corruption in the country and looted the national exchequer.
Shahbaz Sharif said that after rejection of this offer by him, PPP and President Zardari had started using various tactics for pressurizing him which included false cases against him and his family and vindictive actions against his political and other colleagues in government. He said that negative tactics like offer of premiership cannot create hindrance in that way which he had selected for service to the country and riding the masses of this most corrupt government of the history.
Shahbaz Sharif vowed that we can quit politics but are not ready to reconcile with the corrupt government which deceived the people.
