Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) marked the Dengue Day with public awareness activities and preventive measures for Dengue eradication all over the Punjab in line with directions of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr. Rizwan Naseer reviewed these activities here in a meeting held at Rescue 1122 Headquarters. The meeting was attended by incharges of different sections of Rescue Service whereas District Emergency Officers of all 36 Districts of Punjab were taken on board through video conference.
The meeting was briefed that awareness activities have been conducted in all Districts which include Dengue awareness walks in collaboration with City District Government, awareness seminars for community and preventive measures. The District Officers also informed the Chair that cleanliness measures have been executed at all Rescue Stations, office premises, water holding equipment, containers and places to ensure that no stagnant water is left which may cause Dengue proliferation. The Chair was briefed that rescue field staff is voluntarily and proactively providing services of Dengue Larvae detection after training by entomologists. This staff has been continuously working for identification of vulnerable points/ sites of Dengue Larvae breeding under supervision of entomologist of concerned areas.
The Director General reviewed pictorial data of all Districts regarding anti Dengue campaign and awareness messages displayed on emergency vehicles & Rescue Stations all over the Punjab. Dr. Rizwan Naseer also issued directions that cleanliness should be ensured throughout the year and anti Dengue measures should be taken on periodical basis so that we could lead towards Dengue free society.
