Lahore: On Chief Minister Punjab’s instructions, today the 2nd of September is being observed as anti dengue day.
Sharif actively participated in the anti dengue awareness campaign and distributed containing anti dengue information. Not caring for his security, CM mingled with the people and spoke to every passerby regarding measures one can take to make the environment safe from dengue.
CM was accompanied by his Special Assistant on Health Kh Salman Rafiq (PMLN-MPA), elected representatives, the Commissioner and concerned officers. The people were delighted and surprised to find Mr. Shehbaz Sharif in their midst and they vowed to play their role to eradicate dengue.
When Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif reached Center Point Gulberg to take part in a walk on anti-dengue day, he ordered security staff not to stop the traffic. He directed that flow of traffic must not be disrupted and the convenience of the people should be kept in view. The Chief Minister, while distributing pamphlets among the citizens, also asked the participants of the walks not to come on the road so that traffic flow is not disrupted. The Chief Minister himself distributed anti-dengue awareness pamphlets among cyclists, motorcyclists, car and rickshaw passengers.
While receiving awareness pamphlets from the Chief Minister many persons shook hand with him and appreciated his anti-dengue steps in a vigorous manner. Citizens also raised slogans of Chief Minister Zindabad and Shahbaz Sharif Zindabad. As long as the Chief Minister remained in the ceremony, the traffic flow continued on the road without any interruption. While talking to the media, the Chief Minister refused to answer any political question and said that today is anti-dengue day, therefore, only dengue should be kept in focus.
