Lahore: Member Provincial Assembly and Chairman Dengue Response Committee Haji Allah Rakha has said that anti dengue day will be observed with national spirit on September 02, and the day will start through a walk at Moghulpura at 8.00 a.m. Anti-dengue kits would be distributed among masses at door to door besides holding seminars and special programmes at schools and colleges for eradication of dengue.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held at the office of Town Municipal Administrator, Cantt. Kachery Aziz Bhatti Town in connection with anti dengue day on September 02. The officers and officials of concerned departments and coordinators were present on the occasion.
As per the schedule, a walk would be held at 8.00 a.m. from Moghulpura Bridge on September 02 for creating awareness among masses against dengue. Students of high schools, scouts, elected public representatives, officers and officials of concerned departments, traders and people from all walks of life will take part in this walk. Similarly, a rally led by MPA, Mian Naveed Anjum would be taken out from Govt. Degree College Salamatpura while anti-dengue camps would be set up in union councils 41, 43, 44, 45, 48, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60 and 61 and anti-dengue awareness pamphlets and dengue kits would be distributed among the people.
Haji Allah Rakha said that anti-dengue awareness has already been created among people to some extent and lady health workers are also creating awareness by going door to door. He said that the people are also being informed regarding cleanliness of their surroundings and drying up the accumulated water in their areas.
