Lahore: Anti-Dengue Awareness Walk in Ravi Town would start at 10 am from Thana Tibbi which will be attended by Provincial Assembly Member Dr. Asad Ashraf, Kiran Dar, Sakina Shaheen, officers of provincial departments, people from all walks of life and a large number of workers while a big walk led by Rana Iqbal MPA will start from Begum Kot.
This was disclosed by Chairman Dengue Response Committee Ravi Town Malik Raiz while presiding over a meeting at Ravi Town Office, here today. Member Provincial Assembly and officers of other departments were also present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the secretaries of all the 19 unions councils of Ravi Town will arrange walks at union council level and dengue kits and pamphlets will be distributed among the masses in the streets and mohallas. The Chairman Response Committee was informed that five employees of each of WASA, LWMC, Education, Social Welfare, Civil Defence, Rescue 1122 and PHA will attend the walks of all the 19 union councils of Ravi Town and make on the spot arrangements for immediate disposal of stagnant water, garbage and cleanliness.
The meeting was informed that the 19 union councils of Ravi Town have been divided into three groups with regard to anti-dengue and every group will make arrangements for cleanliness, removal of stagnant water and garbage in its concerned union council. Chairman Malik Raiz directed TMO Malik Abrar Hussain to purchase anti-fly medicines from the funds of the town and conduct spray throughout the town. He said that negligence would not be tolerated in this regard. He further directed the TMO to immediately remove stagnant water in children park of Union Council-6 and conduct spray there.
