Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has that elimination of crime and bringing thieves, dacoits, hooligans and anti-social elements to justice is the responsibility of police and it should perform its responsibilities in this regard with commitment and dedication. He said that helping the oppressed and provision of justice to the aggrieved is his mission which will be accomplished at all cost. The Chief Minister issued orders for the suspension of the concerned prosecutor who showed negligence in pursuing the case of murder in Samanabad and the arrest of all the accused involved in the murder of a 20 years old girl during a dacoity at Hujra Shah Muqeem within a week.
He was talking to two aggrieved families in Model Town. Assembly Members Pervaiz Malik, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Hafiz Mian Nauman, Home Secretary, Inspector General Police, Advocate General Punjab, Additional IG Special Branch, CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations and concerned police officers were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that in case of any crime or oppression, the law should immediately take its course and warned that no laxity or dereliction would be tolerated in this regard. He said that only those societies survive where justice is provided to the citizens without any discrimination while such societies lose their existence where the oppressed are left unattended. He said that redressal of the grievances of the aggrieved and provision of prompt and inexpensive justice to them is a means of success in this world and the world hereafter.
He said that elimination of crime and provision of justice to the oppressed and maintenance of law and order is his mission and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard. He directed the police to mend its ways and all the demands of justice should be fulfilled in the investigation of cases. Earlier, a woman Salma Bibi of Samanabad met the Chief Minister along with her family members and informed him that on 30th Ramazan her young son was murdered while the culprits have not been arrested yet. When the Chief Minister asked about the details of the case he was informed that the accused were on bail. Due to confirmation of the bail of the accused on August 18 and the failure to properly follow the case, the Chief Minister ordered suspension of concerned prosecutor and said that had case been pursued in a proper manner the culprits would have been behind the bars.
The Chief Minister directed that effective action should be taken for cancellation of the bail of the accused involved in the murder as well as their immediate arrest. A person Ghulam Rasool of Hujra Shah Muqeem informed that a dacoity was committed at his house in April and his daughter was brutally murdered when she put up resistance. The Chief Minister expressed his indignation over the failure of police to arrest the criminals and ordered that inquiry should be held into the delay in apprehending the criminals and a report should be submitted to him within a week. He further directed that all the accused involved in this case should immediately be nabbed.
