Rescue 1122 on emergency alert on independence day

Lahore: The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming event of Independence Day in all Districts of Punjab.

In order to effectively deal with any untoward event All Districts Emergency Officers were assigned special duties in emergency rescue stations and sensitive areas in order to provide swift response, rescue, emergency medical treatment and safe transportation to the emergency victims on 13th & 14th August, 2012.

Apart from flag hoisting ceremonies at their respective stations the rescuers are ready to help the victims of emergencies with more commitment and the Service shall remain on high alert in all districts of Punjab.

In Lahore 23 fully equipped Emergency Ambulances, 13 Fire Vehicles, 04 rescue vehicles with over 430 rescuers will remain alert at the important key points which include Central Station Ferozepur Road, Fortress Stadium, Yateem Khana, Bhatti Chowk, Defence More, Walton Rescue Station, Mughalpura Chowk, Mughalpura Rescue Station, Yadgar Rescue Station, Railway Station, Sader Roud About, Hazoori Bagh/ GPO Chowk, Wapda House, Thokar Niaz Baig Rescue Station, Model Town More, Shahdara Rescue Station, Shoukat Khanum Chowk, Akbar Chowk, Moon Market, Chuburgi Chowk, Siddique Trade Center Jail Road, Canal Bridge Mall Road, Defence Rescue Station, Liberty Round About, Township Rescue Station, LOS Ichhra and Lohari Rescue Station.

All mobile posts and ambulances with medical kits will remain alert with immediate emergency medical cover if needed. Emergency officers including trained doctors will supervise the arrangements on the occasion.

The Service believes that it is the right of the citizens to celebrate Independence with its true spirit, therefore they should take care of their safety and avoid racing and one wheeling. Special arrangements are also made to provide emergency cover to the citizens who celebrate Independence at night on roads with their families.

The Director General requested the citizens to co-operate with Punjab Emergency Service by providing timely information by dialing 1122 and providing way to the Emergency Ambulances, Rescue and Fire Vehicles.
