Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that despite billions of rupees received from Islamabad, the destiny of Multan has not changed as those making claims of development, have misappropriated fifty percent of this amount in the form of commission. He said that if the Punjab government had such a heavy amount, there would have been bricks of gold in the buildings of Multan. Unfortunately, he said, the federal government has wasted last four years in loot and plunder due to which the country is under the burden of heavy loans.
He expressed these views while addressing a public meeting at Government College of Technology, in Multan today. The Chief Minister said that Ali Baba and Forty Thieves have weakened the foundations of Pakistan through corruption and now it has become a beggar country. He said that the main reason for this state of affairs is the wrong policies and loot and plunder of public resources by federal rulers. He said that PML-N will win the next general elections and change the destiny of the country. He said that under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan will be put on the road to progress and prosperity. He said that the federal government is not sincere in solving the loadshedding problem. He said that due to energy crisis, factories have been closed and labourers have become jobless and the responsibility of this lies on President Zardari. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government is striving for development of Multan on priority basis.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated Engineering University and Agriculture University. Later, the Chief Minister visited Qila Kahna Qasim Bagh and inaugurated ladies park, children park and renovation work of the fort at a cost of Rs.100 million. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated green card scheme and air-conditioned CNG buses at Circuit House Multan. While announcing to increase the quota of CNG buses from 40 to 50, the Chief Minister said that inauguration of Engineering University, Agriculture University, Nawaz Sharif Hospital and plying of CNG buses in Multan is a proof of the fact that Punjab government is trying to solve the problems of the people of Multan on priority basis.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the federal government has broken the records of corruption and ruined the country. He said that the confidence of the people has shaken in democracy due to loadshedding, price-hike and corruption which is very serious issue. He said that the economy has been ruined due to corruption in every federal institution and contrary to it, PML-N has promoted good governance in Punjab and completed every project in a transparent manner. The Chief Minister while informing about the CNG buses project, said that after Lahore, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala, CNG bus service has formally been launched in Multan on various routes. Members Parliament Sh. Tariq Rasheed, Rafiq Rajwana, Provincial Minister Haji Ehsan ud Din and a large number of PML-N workers were also present on the occasion.
