Secretary Food Punjab Irfan Ali has stressed upon members of Pakistan Flour Mills Association to maintain the quality of flour being provided under Ramzan package.
He stated this during meeting with the members of Pakistan Flour Mills Association, here today. Director Food Punjab Najam Shah while giving details of the availability and quality of daily use items including flour, informed that the quality of flour and other edible items being provided by Punjab government with a huge subsidy of four billion rupees is being monitored on daily basis. He said that samples of flour from flour mills are also being sent to the analysis centres of Food Department. He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, special arrangements have been made for the provision of commodities to the consumers in Ramzan Bazaars throughout the province and teams comprising price control magistrates have been constituted for checking profiteering and hoarding. These teams are taking all possible steps to provide relief to the people, he added. He stressed upon office-bearers of Flour Mills Association to ensure provision of flour on the fixed price during the holy month of Ramzan and assist in the government efforts to provide relief to the people.
