CM visits Shahdara Hospital

Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif today visited the under-construction hospital at Shahdarah. Special Assistant Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Planning & Development, DCO Lahore, Project Director and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion. Special Secretary Communication and Works gave the Chief Minister detailed briefing on the project. The Chief Minister directed authorities of Health Department to expedite the work on under-construction hospital at Shahdarah. He directed that this state-of-the-art hospital, consisting of 300-beds, ought to be completed by November this year. He said that an amount of one billion rupees is being spent on the hospital project, which will prove to be a splendid gift to the residents of Shahdara and adjoining areas. He hoped that with the construction of this modern hospital, people of the area would get quality medical facilities near their homes, besides decreasing pressure of patients on big hospitals. The Chief Minister also directed provision of air-conditioned facility to the hospital, along with making proper arrangements for the attendants. The Chief Minister also directed installation of latest machinery, especially CT Scan at the hospital. While talking to the media, the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that doctors belong to a very sacred profession and the whole nation considers them as their ‘messiah’. He said that doctors, nurses and paramedical staff who serves the ailing humanity are highly praiseworthy. He said with regard to elimination of dengue disease, Punjab government is fully ready and preventive measures at every level are being taken. He said Punjab government is following a comprehensive programme of provision of best and quality medical facilities to the masses.

Later, Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif addresed Punjab Governance Forum 2012 and said that the whole nation is trapped in the vortex of problems and difficulties during the last four years due to bad governance and loot and plunder of incapable rulers occupying Islamabad, while democratic system and democratic institutions have also been destroyed in the country. He said immediate and fair and free general elections are the only solution to the problems being faced by the masses.
