Campaign against polio is being started from tomorrow

Lahore:Three days national immunization campaign against polio is being started from Monday 16th July during which 17.3 million children up to five years of age will be administered anti polio drops all over the Punjab.

Health department has constituted more than 38 thousand teams to achieve the target, spokesman of health department told here on Sunday. He further said that 32 thousand mobile teams consisting upon 2 to 3 percent will visit door to door for administering polio drops. Whereas, more than 2 thousand teams have been posted as exist points of cities while 4 thousand static teams have been deputed at Railway Station, Bus Terminals and Airports etc to provide service to travelling children. The spokesman disclosed that polio vaccination facilities have also been provided in all public sector hospitals, health centers and dispensaries. The spokesman appealed to the parents, religious leaders, members of the civil society, NGOs and public representatives to play their role in this national cause so that our younger generation could be protected from permanent disability and we could achieve the goal to eradicate polio menace from our country.
