Punjab government sent the dead bodies of the cadets:Rana Sana

Lahore:Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Punjab government sent the dead bodies of the cadets who were martyred in the incident of terrorism in Rasul Park Ichhra with full honour to Khyber Pakhtoon Khawah and there is no question of delay or laxity in this regard.

Addressing a press conference at DGPR, here today, Rana Sanaullah said that immediately after receiving the report about the incident of terrorism in Rasool Park, Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies and the injured to the hospital. He said that though there was some delay due to determining the complainant in FIR but as soon as the reply of DG National Police Academy was received, the report was registered at police station Samanabad and the postmortem of the bodies of martyrs was conducted. Rana Sanaullah further said that this whole process was monitored by Punjab government at the highest level and the Chief Minister Punjab, Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif remained in constant contact so that there should not be any complaint regarding this tragic incident. He said that National Prisons Academy is a federal institution which operates under the Ministry of Interior. He said that this institution had rented a two-storey house in Rasool Park in 2004-05 under its own arrangements for the stay of under-training cadets. He said that the institution had never contacted Punjab government regarding security of these under-training cadets. He said that all security institutions are responsible for their own safety, however Punjab government is not oblivious to its obligations in this regard.

Rana Sanaullah said that best possible medical facilities have been provided to all injured cadets in hospital and they are out of danger. He said that Punjab government fully shares the grief of Khyber Pakhtoon Khawah government, its people and the families of the martyrs and the affectees have heartfelt sympathies of the people of Punjab. Rana Sanaullah further said that the finger prints and other clues found at the site of the tragedy are being closely examined at forensic laboratory and it is hoped that progress will soon be made in tracing out the perpetrators of the crime. He said that joint investigation team headed by CCPO Lahore and comprising officers of all agencies is probing the incident.

In reply to a question, Rana Sanaullah said that the incharge of the internal matters of the country should be such a person who is competent and honest.
