Lahore:A delegation of Ulema, led by Senior Vice President Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Shah Muhammad Owais Noorani, called on Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister’s Secretariat here today. The overall political situation of the country was discussed in the meeting.
Following joint communiqué was issued at the end of the meeting, “The meeting has reached the conclusion that, in view of inept policies and corruption of federal government, the country is facing agonizing and torturous loadshedding, against which Pakistan Muslim League-N and Jamiat-e-Ulema Pakistan must wage a joint struggle. The meeting has decided that Pakistan Muslim League-N and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, would make joint efforts against the present corrupt government and holding of elections without any delay. In the forthcoming elections, both parties would stand shoulder to shoulder with each other. According to the decision of the meeting, both parties would vigorously strive for the establishment of an Islamic welfare state in the country”.
During the meeting, special prayers were offered for national solidarity and deliverance from the corrupt and cruel rulers. The Ulema paid glowing tributes to the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League-N and the present Punjab government for unprecedented development projects in the province. The ulema reminded that, during the prime minister-ship of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan was making rapid progress and motorways and roads were being constructed, while he also transformed Pakistan into an atomic power.
